Container Linux is a special operating system designed for running applications securely and reliably on the cloud. It works in a very different way to normal operating systems because instead of the applications running directly on the system, they run in ‘containers’. Containers are like mini computers inside the computer that are completely isolated from each other, so that the applications running inside them don’t interfere with each other. This means that problems with one application can’t affect the others, and applications work more reliably and securely.
