Container deposit legislation

Container deposit legislation is when people have to pay a bit of extra money when they buy certain drinks, like soda or bottled water. When they finish drinking the drinks, then they can take the bottles or cans back to a special store and get the money back. This kind of law makes sure that people don't just throw their empty bottles and cans away, but instead they have an extra incentive to take them back and put them in the recycling bin. That way, fewer bottles and cans end up polluting the world!
