Contemporary history

Contemporary history is a fancy way of saying "history that's happening right now." Imagine you have a photo album of everything that has happened since you were born, but you only have photos up until yesterday. Everything that happens today and in the future will be in the contemporary history section of your album.

For example, if you were studying contemporary history, you might look at how social media has changed the way we communicate with each other or how smartphones have changed the way we live our everyday lives. You might also look at big events like wars or political elections and how they've impacted different countries and people.

So even though contemporary history might sound like a big complicated concept, it's really just about studying the world around us right now and understanding how we got to where we are today.
