ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Continuous wave

Okay kiddo, do you ever see a wave in the water? It goes up and down, right? Well, sometimes we use waves to send messages or signals through the air, like when we use a walkie-talkie or a phone.

A continuous wave is like a really steady and constant wave that we use to send these signals. Imagine if you stood in the water and made a really consistent wave with your hand, that's kind of what it's like.

Instead of going up and down like a regular wave, a continuous wave stays at the same height and just keeps going without stopping. Something called a radio transmitter can make these waves and send them through the air to pick up by another device, like a radio receiver.

So basically, a continuous wave is like a steady wave we use to communicate without stopping!
