Copper extraction

Copper extraction is like playing with Lego blocks. You know how you have a box of Lego blocks, but you need to build a castle? You have to sort through the blocks to find the ones you need.

Well, in copper extraction, we have a big rock that has copper in it, but we need to get the copper out. It's kind of like sorting through the Lego blocks - we need to find the copper pieces.

There are different ways to do this, but one common way is to crush the big rock into smaller pieces. Then, we put the crushed rock into a big tank with water and chemicals that help separate the copper from the other parts of the rock.

The chemicals make the copper stick to bubbles that we blow into the tank. Then, we scoop out the bubbles with the copper on them.

Once we have the copper, we need to clean it up so we can use it. This is like washing and drying the Legos you used to build your castle. We put the copper in a furnace that heats it up really hot to get rid of any impurities.

Finally, we have pure copper that we can use for things like making wires and pipes. It's kind of like how you can use your Lego castle to play with your friends!
