ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Corsican language

Corsican language is a language spoken in the region of Corsica, which is a French island in the Mediterranean Sea. It is a language that sounds different from French, which is the main language spoken in France.

Just like how some people speak Spanish, Italian, or German, people in Corsica speak Corsican. Corsican language has its own words, grammar, and sounds that are different from other languages.

A long time ago, Corsica used to be its own country, and people spoke Corsican. But later on, France took over Corsica, and French became the main language. However, many people on the island still speak Corsican!

People who speak Corsican might sound like they are talking really fast or saying words you don't understand, but it’s just because it’s a different language. But it's cool that people can speak different languages, right?
