Cortijo

A cortijo is like a big house in the countryside, where people used to live a long time ago. It's like a little village all in one building. Farmers and their families would live in a cortijo, and they would take care of animals and plants like fruit trees, vegetables, and wheat. Cortijos have a big courtyard where people can meet, and they would also have stables for animals like horses and donkeys. Now, people use cortijos as vacation homes or to live in year-round, but they still have many of the same features as they did a long time ago.
