Cosmic microwave background radiation

Cosmic microwave background radiation is a kind of energy that is all around us in the Universe. It is a type of light that has been traveling through space since the beginning of the Universe. This light was released shortly after the Big Bang and has been travelling though the Universe ever since. So it is everywhere, even in outer space. We can't see this type of light, but it is there, kind of like an invisible blanket. Its energy can be detected and it helps scientists figure out things about the the Universe.
