ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Cotton mill

Okay, so imagine you have a really big machine that helps you make clothes out of cotton. It's so big that it fills up an entire building! This giant machine is called a cotton mill.

Inside the cotton mill, there are all kinds of smaller machines that work together to turn cotton fibers (that come from plants) into thread, yarn, and fabric. These machines are like big toys that help you play with your cotton and turn it into something you can wear.

First, the cotton fibers are cleaned and straightened out so that they can be spun into thread. This process is called "carding" and it makes sure that all the cotton fibers are lined up nicely.

Next, the cotton fibers are spun into thread using a machine called a "spinning frame." It's like a big toy top that spins really fast and twists the fibers together into a strong thread.

Once the thread is made, it can be woven into fabric using another machine called a "loom." This machine makes a pattern by criss-crossing the thread over and under each other.

After the fabric is made, it can be dyed different colors or printed with designs. Then, it's ready to be cut and sewn into clothes!

So, a cotton mill is a big building with lots of machines inside that help turn cotton into clothes. It's like a big toy factory for making fabrics and clothing!
