ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Crasis

Alright kiddo, crasis is when two words are smushed together into one word. This happens when the end of one word and the beginning of another word sound the same or are the same.

For example, instead of saying "I am going to the store and to the park," you can smush the two "to" words together to make "I'm going to the store and park".

People do this to make their speech or writing quicker and easier. But remember, it's important to still use proper grammar and spelling even when using crasis!
