A crime analyst is like a detective who tries to figure out how and why crimes happen. They use special tools and tricks to spot patterns and changes in crime to help police catch the bad guys. They look at things like where and when crimes happen, what types of crimes are happening, and the people or groups involved. Just like how you might use your memory and observations to solve a puzzle, a crime analyst uses data and information to solve the mystery of crime.
