ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Cross-country cycling

Cross-country cycling is like going on a big bike adventure! You ride your bike across different places in a country, from one side to the other. It's like traveling, but you don't drive in a car or fly in a plane, you ride your bike.

Cross-country cycling is a super cool and fun way to explore new places and see beautiful scenery. It's like a big, long, fun bike ride! You get to see lots of different things along the way, like mountains, forests, deserts, rivers, and lakes.

When you go cross-country cycling, you need a special kind of bike that's strong and durable. It's called a touring bike. Touring bikes have special parts that make them super comfortable to ride for long distances. For example, they have special seats that are soft and keep your bottom from getting sore.

You also need to bring lots of stuff with you when you go cross-country cycling. You need food, water, and clothes for different kinds of weather. You might also need a tent to sleep in and a sleeping bag to keep you warm at night.

Cross-country cycling is a big challenge, but it's also lots of fun! You get to meet lots of new people along the way, and you get to feel really proud of all you've accomplished when you finish your big bike adventure.
