Crossing number (graph theory)

Crossing number is a concept from graph theory. Graph theory is the study of relationships between things.

Crossing number has to do with drawing things on paper. If you draw two lines on paper, they may cross, or go through each other. When two lines cross, the crossing number is one. If you draw more lines, and they cross several times, the crossing number is the number of times they cross.
