Crossing the Red Sea

So, a long time ago, there were some people called the Israelites. They were slaves in a place called Egypt and they wanted to go away from there and go to a new place where they could live happily. But the ruler of Egypt, called Pharaoh, did not want to let the Israelites go. He wanted them to keep working as his slaves.

One day, a man named Moses went to talk to Pharaoh and asked him to let the Israelites go. But Pharaoh said no, and he did not change his mind even though Moses asked him many times. So something amazing happened.

God (who the Israelites believed in) made a way for them to cross a big sea, called the Red Sea, so they could escape from Egypt. There was a big wall of water on both sides of the sea so the Israelites could walk on dry ground in the middle of the sea.

The Israelites walked across the sea and they reached the other side safely. But when Pharaoh's army tried to follow them, the wall of water fell on them and they were trapped. This made Pharaoh change his mind and let the Israelites go free.

So crossing the Red Sea was a very important and amazing event in the history of the Israelites. It showed that God was with them and helped them to escape from slavery and start a new life.
