ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Crown lands

Ok, let's say the king or queen of a country has a big kingdom with lots of land. Sometimes, they might not need all of the land themselves. So they let other people use the land, but they still own it. This land is called crown lands.

It's kind of like if you have a big toy box with lots of toys, but you don't play with all of them all the time. So you let your friends come over and play with the toys, but they still belong to you.

People can use crown lands for things like farming or building houses, but they have to follow the rules set by the king or queen. They might have to pay money or do something else in return for using the land.

Crown lands can also be used for things like parks or forests that everyone can enjoy. So even though the king or queen owns the land, it's kind of like a present for everyone to share and enjoy!
