Riparian water rights

Riparian water rights is a type of water rights law that the government uses to manage water resources. Under this system, people who own land adjacent to a body of water, such as a river or a lake, have the right to have access to and use the water that flows on their land. So, if you own land next to a river, you're allowed to use and take water from the river for things like irrigation or livestock. The government manages these rights to make sure that no one is taking too much water and so that the water is used for things like farming and drinking to help people in the community.
