ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Cultural identity

Cultural identity means what makes you who you are based on the culture you grew up in. Just like you have a unique name, you also have a unique cultural identity that is made up of things like the food you eat, the language you speak, the music and stories you enjoy, and the traditions you follow. It's also about feeling like you belong to a certain group of people who share the same values and beliefs as you. For example, if you were born and raised in Mexico, your cultural identity might include speaking Spanish, eating tacos, celebrating Dia de los Muertos, and valuing family and religion. Your cultural identity is a big part of who you are, and it helps you understand and connect with others who share similar experiences and backgrounds.
