ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Cyclic group

A cyclic group is like a group of toys that repeat in a pattern. Let's say you have a group of cars, and you can arrange them in a circular pattern starting with anyone. If you start with the red car, and then go clockwise, you'll end up back at the red car eventually. This pattern continues with any starting car.

Now imagine you can "zoom in" on the circular pattern, and you see that each car has a number on it: 1, 2, 3, and so on. If you keep adding those numbers to each other, you can find which cars you'll end up at. For example, if you start at car number 2 and add 3, you'll end up at car number 5.

This group of cars with a repeating pattern is also called a cyclic group. It's an important concept in mathematics and has a lot of useful applications, like in cryptography or coding theory.
