ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Cylinder (engine)

Okay kiddo, so let's talk about cylinders in an engine. An engine is like the heart of a car, it helps it move and run. Now, imagine you have a bunch of tubes (cylinders) attached to the heart. Each of these tubes has a piston in it that moves up and down.

When the fuel and air mix together in the cylinder, a spark ignites it, and it explodes - this creates energy that makes the piston move up and down. This movement helps turn a crankshaft, which eventually makes the car's wheels turn and move forward.

The more cylinders an engine has, the more power it can produce. And that's how your car moves, sweetie!
