Data General Nova
So you know how you have a toy box and you keep all your toys in it? Well, a computer is kind of like a big toy box where we keep important information and tell it what to do.
A long, long time ago, in a time before iPads and smartphones, people used big computers that were called mainframes. But then, a company called Data General made a new kind of computer that was smaller and could fit in an office. They called it the Nova.
The Nova was really cool because it could do a lot of things that other computers couldn't do. It had a fast processing speed and was really good at solving math problems. People started using Novas for all kinds of things like businesses, research, and even making video games!
The Nova was also really important because it was one of the first computers to use microchips. Microchips are small pieces of technology that do a lot of work. They make computers faster and more efficient.
