A Data Dictionary is like a map for a computer. It's a list of words and translations that tell the computer what information you are trying to store and how it should store it. For example, if you want to store someone's age, the data dictionary would say that the word "age" should be stored as a number. That way the computer knows how to store and use the information correctly.
