ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Decision-making

When we have to make a decision, it's like choosing what flavor of ice cream we want to eat. We have to think about what we like, what we don't like, and what we really want or need.

First, we have to think about what we want to achieve with our decision, just like how we want to feel happy after eating ice cream. Then, we gather information about the different options we have, just like we would look at all the ice cream flavors before choosing.

Once we have all the information, we can weigh the pros and cons of each option, just like how we might think about whether we prefer chocolate or vanilla. We might also ask other people for their opinions, just like how we might ask our friends if they like mint chocolate chip ice cream too.

Finally, we make the best decision we can based on what we want and what we know, just like how we choose that delicious ice cream flavor. And just like how we might feel happy after eating our favorite ice cream, we should feel good about our decision and the outcome it brings.
