Declaration on Great Apes

Okay, so you know monkeys, right? Well, there are some monkeys that are really special called great apes. They are like humans, and that's why we think they are so amazing.

But sometimes people don't treat them very nicely. They keep them in cages, hurt them, or take away their homes. And that's not okay, because great apes deserve to be treated with respect and care.

So, a long time ago, some very important people got together and talked about how we can make sure that great apes are protected and happy. They wrote down some rules called the Declaration on Great Apes.

This declaration says that great apes have the same rights as humans when it comes to being happy and healthy. They should be able to live in their natural habitat, have plenty of food and water, and be free from harm or neglect.

Basically, it means that we need to take good care of great apes and not hurt or harm them. So, if we see someone doing something bad to a great ape, we should tell the grown-ups, so they can help to protect them.

In short, the Declaration on Great Apes is a set of rules that says we need to treat great apes with kindness and respect, just like we would want to be treated.
