ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Deconvolution

Deconvolution is like unmixing some blended colors to see what they were originally made of. Imagine you have a picture of a beautiful flower, but someone added a bunch of other colors on top of it. It looks pretty, but you want to know what the flower really looked like. Deconvolution helps you strip away those extra colors and reveal the original colors of the flower.

But how does it work? Well, when you take a picture, sometimes things get blurry or distorted because of the camera or the environment. Deconvolution helps correct for those distortions by using mathematical equations to figure out what the original picture should look like.

It's kind of like a puzzle. You have a bunch of blurry pieces and you need to put them together in the right way to see the whole picture. Deconvolution helps you figure out how those pieces fit together so you can see the full, clear picture.
