ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Defensive walls

Defensive walls are walls that protect people from being attacked by others. Imagine a big, strong wall surrounding a castle or a city. This wall is like a giant fence that keeps bad guys out and good guys safe inside.

Defensive walls are usually made of some type of strong material like stone, brick, or concrete. They are built very thick and tall so it is hard for bad guys to get over or through them.

Imagine playing hide-and-seek with your friends. If you hide in a room with a locked door, it is harder for your friends to find you. Defensive walls are like the locked door to keep out the bad guys.

People have been using defensive walls for a long, long time. They were used in ancient times to protect people from wild animals and invasions from other groups of people. Nowadays, they are still used in some places but not as much as they used to be since there are other ways of protecting ourselves.

So, think of defensive walls as a really strong, big fence that keeps us safe from bad guys.
