Chinese city walls were very tall and thick walls that were built around cities in ancient China. They were usually several meters high and made of stone, wood or bricks. The walls were meant to protect the cities from enemies. They would often have big gates or doors that could be opened and closed to let people in and out, and also to prevent enemies from getting in. Inside the walls, the city would have many buildings, roads and other things that the people living in the city needed.
