ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Deflagration

Deflagration is like when there are a lot of tiny toy soldiers (called molecules) that are really excited and bouncing around all over the place. When they get too excited, they start bumping into each other and making big waves of energy. This energy can get really hot and bright, like a sparkler on the Fourth of July.

Sometimes, if there are enough of these excited toy soldiers and they get too bunched up, they can make a big boom! This is called a deflagration. It's like when a balloon gets too full of air and pops.

Deflagration can happen when things like fireworks or gasoline or even flour get too excited and hot. It's important to be careful and keep these things away from heat and flame, or else they might make a loud deflagration and be dangerous.
