Delayed puberty is when your body takes longer than usual to start growing and changing during the time when you switch from being a kid to an adult. You may not grow taller like your friends or have any other changes that usually happen to girls and boys when they become teenagers. Delayed puberty can start as late as age 14 for girls and 16 for boys. This can be normal for some people, but it's important to talk to your doctor if you think you're having a delayed puberty because it can sometimes be a sign of a medical problem.
