Delusions of reference

Okay kiddo, so there's this thing called delusions of reference. It's when someone thinks that random things that happen or general things that people say are directly connected to them, even when they're not.

So, let's say someone with delusions of reference is walking down the street and they hear someone talking about pizza. They might think that the person is specifically talking about them and that they need to go get pizza right away.

Or, if they see a billboard with a slogan on it, they might believe that the slogan was purposely created just for them, even though it's really just an advertisement meant for lots of people.

Basically, it's like their brain is playing tricks on them and making everything seem like it's all about them, even if it's not. It can be really scary and confusing for them, and it's important for them to get help from a doctor or therapist to learn how to cope with these thoughts.
