Density matrix renormalization group

Density matrix renormalization group (DMRG) is a method used to figure out the properties of many different kinds of particles like atoms, molecules and materials. It works by breaking the particles down into small pieces and other little pieces of information (called 'quantum states'), and then using a really powerful computer to figure out how the particles interact and behave. This can help scientists understand things about their particles that are otherwise very hard to figure out.
