Deontological ethics

Deontological ethics is the idea that when doing the right thing, you should follow a set of moral rules, even if it means you might not get the outcome you want. Imagine you're playing a board game with your friends. Even if you really want to win, you still have to follow the rules of the game. That's deontological ethics - following the rules, even when it doesn't get you what you want.
