Dictionary attack

A dictionary attack is when someone tries to break into a computer or a website by trying to guess words that are used as passwords. They do this by using a special program that uses a list of words to guess the password. The program will try the words one by one until it finds the right one. That word is then the password and the person who used the program can get into the computer or website.
