ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Diesel cycle

The diesel cycle is a way of running an engine that uses diesel fuel. Diesel fuel has a lot of energy in it, and it can be used to move engines like the ones in cars, buses, and trucks. When the diesel fuel mixes with air inside the engine, it creates a spark that starts the engine. As the engine runs, it turns a shaft (like a big machine screw) which is connected to the wheels. This spinning force makes the car, bus, or truck move.
