Diesel–electric transmission

Diesel–electric transmission is a type of vehicle propulsion system. It uses a diesel engine to turn a generator, which in turn produces electricity. The electricity is then used to power an electric motor that turns the wheels of the vehicle, making it move. The main advantage of this type of propulsion system is that it makes the vehicle more fuel efficient and more reliable and is more environmentally friendly than other types of propulsion systems.
