ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Digital surface

Okay kiddo, imagine a piece of paper that you draw on with crayons or markers. Whatever you draw on it, you can see and touch with your hands, right?

Now, let's say we have a special computer program that lets us draw and create things on the computer instead of on paper. When we make something on the computer, we can't actually touch or feel it with our hands because it only exists inside the computer.

But, there's a way we can make it feel like we're touching it even though it's digital! It's called a digital surface.

Think of it like a magical window on the computer screen. This window lets us see what we made on the computer, but it also has sensors inside it that can tell when we touch it with our fingers or a special pen called a stylus.

When we touch the digital surface, it can tell where we're touching and how hard we're pushing, just like if we were touching a real object. This makes it feel like we're touching and manipulating something that's actually there in front of us, even though it's just a digital creation inside the computer.

So, that's what a digital surface is - a special window on the computer screen that lets us see and touch our digital creations like they're real objects. Cool, huh?
