ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Dimensionless physical constant

A dimensionless physical constant is a number (like a regular constant) that scientist use to measure something. It stays the same no matter what, so it's like a secret code that scientists use to know the exact size and shape of different things in the universe. For example, the 'speed of light' is a dimensionless physical constant. It's the same no matter how far away from Earth you measure it.
