World War II was a major conflict that happened between 1939 and 1945. It was fought between two groups of countries, the Allies (which included the United States, Great Britain and France) and the Axis (which included Germany, Japan and Italy). During World War II, the leaders of the countries had to work together to be able to fight the war. This is called diplomatic history. During this time, countries met with each other and talked about strategies for fighting the war and peace plans after the war was over. They also exchanged information about their military forces and resources that would help them in the fight. Diplomatic history is important because it tells us about the actions taken by countries to win the war and how the world changed afterwards.
