Discrediting tactic is when someone tries to make another person look bad. This means they might say something about them that isn't true, like that they did something wrong or said something mean. They might also post something nasty or embarrassing about the person on the internet. Either way, they are trying to make the other person look bad so people don't trust them or like them.
