Doctor–patient confidentiality

Doctor–patient confidentiality means that anything you tell your doctor stays between you and them. Your doctor won't tell anyone else in the hospital, your family or your friends what you shared with them in confidence. This means that you can tell your doctor anything and they will keep it a secret. It also means that your doctor will not give out any of your private information without your permission. In doctor–patient confidentiality, you can trust your doctor to keep your private matters confidential.
