Okay kiddo, so you know how bike racing is like when you watch the Tour de France on TV and see all the riders going super fast and working really hard to try and win? Well, one type of rider in bike racing is called a "domestique".
Think of a domestique like an assistant or helper for the team leader. They work together to try and win the race, but the domestique's job is to do things that make it easier for the team leader. They might ride in front of the team leader to break the wind and make it easier for them to go faster, or they might go and get water bottles or food for the team leader during the race.
The domestique might not get as much attention or credit as the team leader, but they are still really important because they are doing things that help the whole team. Sometimes, the domestique might even work so hard that they use up all their energy and can't finish the race themselves!
So, think of it like the team leader is the superstar, but the domestiques are the behind-the-scenes heroes who make sure the superstar can perform at their best.
