Donor conceived person

Okay kiddo, sometimes when a mom and dad want to have a baby but they can't have one on their own, they might ask for help from someone else. That person is called a donor.

A donor is someone who gives something to help someone else. In this case, the donor gives something called sperm (for dads) or an egg (for moms).

When a baby is born using a donor's sperm or egg, that baby is called donor-conceived. That means they were made with the help of someone else who isn't their mom or dad.

Being donor-conceived might feel different than being born the usual way, but it's still very special because mom and dad wanted that baby so much.

Sometimes, people want to know who the donor is or what they look like. Other times, they might never know, but that's okay too. The most important thing is that they have loving parents who wanted them with all their hearts.
