ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Downcycling

Downcycling is when something that was made from a resource (like plastic, metal, or glass), is used again, but in a way that it can't be used to make something else. For example, if a plastic bottle is used to make a chair, the chair can't be used to make the bottle again. That's downcycling - where something is recycled but it is not able to be recycled into something else.
