Drain-waste-vent system

Okay kiddo, so you know that when you go potty or wash your hands, the water goes down the drain and disappears, right? But where does it go? That's where the drain-waste-vent system comes in!

This system is made up of pipes and vents that carry water and waste away from our homes and into the sewer system. The pipes are like tunnels that go under the ground and are connected to your toilets, sinks, showers, and other plumbing fixtures.

When water and waste go down the drain, it flows through these pipes and into the sewer line. But it's not just water and waste that flow through these pipes - sometimes air and gas from the sewer line can come back up and cause stinky smells in your house. That's where the vents come in.

Vents are like little tubes that stick out of your roof. They allow air to flow into and out of the drain-waste system, helping to make sure that everything stays running smoothly and smelling fresh.

So there you have it, kiddo - the drain-waste-vent system is how your potty water and other waste is safely carried away and disposed of, without causing any stinky problems in your home.
