Drift mining

Drift mining is like pretending to be a mole and digging through the ground to find precious things like gold or coal. Imagine you have a flashlight and you're crawling through a tunnel, just like how you would crawl through a tunnel made of pillows in a fort! Except instead of pillows, there are rocks and dirt all around you.

The dreams of finding gold or coal often happen deep in the ground, and going straight down to find it can be hard and expensive. That's where drift mining comes in! You and other miners will tunnel through the ground at an angle, like walking down a ramp, to get to the treasure you're looking for.

Once you've found your way to the treasure, you'll work together to collect it safely and bring it back up to the surface for everyone to see. It can be hard work, but what you find can be very valuable!
