Drools is a program that lets computers understand when to do something. It uses something called "rules" which are written in a special language. It helps the computer decide what action to take when given certain information. For example, if you wanted a computer to play a game of chess, you could give the computer a set of rules that tell it how to move each piece. The computer would then use those rules to make decisions. So, instead of having to tell the computer what to do every step of the way, you could just program it with the set of rules and it would be able to figure out the rest.
