The duck curve is a graph that shows how much electricity is used throughout the day. It's called the duck curve because it looks like the back of a duck. During the day, when the sun is up, people use less electricity because the sun is providing lots of natural light and people don't need to use electric lights. But then, when the sun goes down, people start using more electricity because they need electric lights and other appliances to help them stay warm and see. The duck curve shows how this works - the electricity use starts low, curves up for a peak, and then curves back down.
