Dye laser

Okay kiddo, so you know how light comes in different colors, like red, blue, and green? Well, a dye laser is a special machine that can make really concentrated beams of light that are just one color.

It does this by using a liquid called a "dye" that absorbs light of certain colors and then emits it again as another color. So if you shine a special kind of light called a "pump laser" on the dye, it absorbs that light and then spits out a new color of light in a really focused beam.

Scientists and doctors use dye lasers for all kinds of things, like studying how chemicals react to light or doing surgeries on people's eyes. It's like having a really powerful flashlight, but instead of shining a big blob of light everywhere, the dye laser shines a tiny, super-concentrated beam exactly where it's needed. How cool is that?!
