Ear shaping

Ear shaping is when a doctor helps to change the shape of someone's ears. Sometimes people might not like the way their ears look, or they might have been born with ears that stick out too much. The doctor can help fix that by doing a special surgery.

During the surgery, the doctor first puts medicine on the ear to make it numb so it won't hurt. Then, the doctor makes a small cut in the skin behind the ear where it won't be seen. The doctor takes out a little bit of the cartilage, which is what makes up the ear, to reshape it. Then, the doctor puts a special bandage on the ear to hold it in the new shape.

After the surgery, the person has to be careful not to accidentally bump or touch their ear too much while it's healing. But soon enough, their ear will look the way they want it to and they'll be happy with how they look.
