Okay kiddo, have you ever seen water boil before? You know how it gets all hot and bubbly, and little bubbles start to come up to the surface? That's kind of like what happens to our bodies in outer space. You see, when we're up there among the stars, our bodies aren't protected by the Earth's gravity and atmosphere like they are down here. That means that the fluids in our bodies, like our blood, can start to boil or turn into gas because of something called "ebullism."
Ebullism happens when there's a sudden drop in pressure, like what happens when an astronaut goes on a spacewalk without a spacesuit. If they're not protected by the right gear, the pressure in their bodies drops so quickly that the fluids inside their tissues and blood start to boil and turn into gas. This can cause them to get dizzy, pass out, or even die if it's not treated right away.
Luckily, we have some really smart people who design spacesuits that keep astronauts safe from ebullism and other dangers in space. So even though space is a really cool place to explore, it's important that we take all the right precautions to make sure we stay healthy and safe while we're up there.
