Ecadotril

Ecadotril is a type of medicine that helps people who are sick and have too much water in their body. When people are sick, sometimes their body holds on to too much water and makes them feel bad. Ecadotril helps get rid of that extra water by making the body pee more.

Ecadotril works by blocking a special type of chemical in the body called an enzyme. This enzyme usually tells the body to hold on to salt and water, but when ecadotril blocks it, the body lets go of some of that extra water.

To take ecadotril, a doctor will give you a pill to swallow with some water. It's important to take the pill exactly like the doctor tells you, because taking too much can make you feel sick, and not taking enough won't help your body get rid of the extra water.

Even though ecadotril can help you feel better, it's still important to eat healthy foods and get enough rest. Your body needs all the help it can get when it's sick!
